The Comics-Museum CNBDI in Angouleme is very impressing. A interessting mixture of hightech-glas architecture and old classical style. Inside of the building were four exhibitions. Most interessting for me was Jim Woodrings paintings and drawings. the museum also has a huge comic library which can be use al over the year.

Edmond Baudoin is signing at the L’Association stand. He made a one pager for our comics magazine “18plus”.

“École Supérieure de Límage” had a nice exhibiton in the foyer. They hang their works as if they were caught in a spider web.

“Maison de Auteurs” is a house where young artist (comic authors) can work for several month. They get the opportunity to work in the atelier for free. They can use the infrastructure given there (printer, library…) and work intensively on their projects. but you have to look after an appartment for yourself. i heard there are some appartments, but there is a long waiting list.
The exhibition was one of the best. They made it up as if it was an archeological excavation. That´s why they called it “Archéo Graphie”. They really made a good job on that. Everywhere were bones, rocks, dust, wooden supporting beams, old buckets, cases and old furnitures.

In the town hall everybody celebrated the last night of the comic-festival. You could get bear and sparkling wine for free. So it was a wet and blithful party. Most of the time the music was bad but nobody cared. In the middle of the night the electricity went out but nobody cared. Everybody just kept on talking where he/she was.

I had a great evening with you folks!

we all had a little hangover but finally we arrived in zurich.
Our magazine “18plus” was given away as a present or was changed for a different magazine.
the first edition from our comic magazine is done.

life - death

this was a day in december.
the sun was shining lovely but it was cold.
in switzerland they have many strange traditions. one of them is to cross a river in december. i do not know why, but hundrets of people take part in this st. niklaus swimming.
i did bot know what was happening when i came to the brigde. i stood there watching. after a few minutes i decided to take part as well. although i did not have any swimmstuff with me. you had to sign in and pay some money. first i got a little angry, that i had to pay money for jumping into freezing water. but everybody got hot drinks befor and after the swim. and if you did not have a towel - like me - they gave you one. i swam in my underwear and undershirt.

here we are just to be the next group to start. standing behind a glasdoor. here it was nice and warm. erverybody had to wear a bathcap. with a beatiful print of COOP. the guy behind me was a german guy i met there. we got together and encouraged each other. his girlfriend chickened out of the swimming.
it was a very nice event. the people were in a good mood and had fun. after i had gotten out of the icy water, finished dressed and had had a hot tea i felt fantastic!

i always wanted one! now i have it!
a piercing in my left ear (im Tragus).
it still needs care twice a day, but it does only hurt when i accidently touch it. And no, it did not hurt very much while the guy pierced it.
